The Registry of the Greek ccTLD .gr Domain Names, part of the Institute of Computer Science, of the Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas, is in charge of the operation and technical coordination of the .gr top-level domain name space. This role has been assigned by the National Telecommunications & Post Commission, an non of r profit organization. The registration of the .gr ccTLD is open for everyone who applies, and the processing time takes from 3 to 5 business days. Currently, there are about 91 000 registered domain names under the .gr TLD. The ccTLD .gr was established by the Internic on February the 19th 1989 and has always been managed by the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas.
