The Belgian registry agency is the DNS Belgium vzw (DNS.be) and Beltug, a non for profit agent established in 1999. This organization has as its mission is to register domain names under dot.be, to facilitate the Internet access and to stimulate its use. The Internet domain name registration was totally liberalized on December the 11, 2000. Today, there are more than 1,400,000 registered domain names under the Top Level Domain .be. The ccTLD .be was established by the Internic on August the 5 th 1988 and was first managed by the Catholic University of Leuven. |
