Summary |
|
The ccTLD .ee was established by the Internic on June the 3rd 1992. The function of registry for the .ee ccTLD was given to the Estonian Educational and Research Network (EENet), a governmental non-profit organization established in August 1993 by the Ministry of Education. Since 1997 EENet operates as a state agency administered by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. The right to apply for a .ee domain is highly restricted. The applicant must prove a permanent internet connection in Estonia (server location). Furthermore, the applicant must have place of business/residence in Estonia. Today, there are more than 28 000 registered domain names under the Top Level Domain .ee, and the growth rate is of 541,66 new domain names per month (based on the 2004 monthly average newly registered names). |
